Newsletter and consent

Subscription is independent of student accounts. We record your email address, selected language, consent time, source and consent-text version to manage requests, confirmation and unsubscribe. Subscription requires a separate consent checkbox and email confirmation.

Language preference

Each address chooses one delivery language: English or Simplified Chinese. Editions are reviewed independently; an unavailable or unapproved edition is never replaced with another language. Confirmed subscribers can change language using a secure, single-use email link that expires after 30 minutes. Consent and suppression records are preserved.

Storage and access

Newsletter records use Cloudflare D1 without video storage. Message tokens are stored encrypted; subscriber lists are private and managed only by verified authorized administrators. Abuse-prevention evidence uses protected hashes rather than stored raw IP addresses.

Retention and deletion

Confirmation links expire after 24 hours and work once. Unsubscribe immediately excludes future Newsletter messages; minimal suppression and consent evidence is retained to prevent further sending. Account deletion and evidence retention require the final retention policy. Contact the administrator to request access, correction or deletion.

Email and testing

The current staging environment permits synthetic addresses and sends no real email. Before delivery launches, sender identity, email provider, privacy terms and required DNS records will be reviewed and verified. No videos or payments are required.
